The Indian Cricket team skipper has been clocked doing speeds of up to 215 kmph.
Rohit Sharma, captain of the Indian Cricket Team, has been fined thrice on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. According to a report by Pune Mirror, the Indian team skipper has been clocked doing speeds of up to 215 kmph. Sharma was on his way to the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune for India’s match against Bangladesh on October 19 during the ongoing 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
As per the report, two of the three citations issued online to Sharma have been for speeds of over 200 kmph and one for 215 kmph. He was allegedly driving his Lamborghini Urus to Pune, however, there is no confirmation of which car he was traveling in.
A source in the Traffic Department raised concerns about the dangerous driving by Sharma on a busy highway during the World Cup. The source further added that the skipper should have been traveling in the team bus along with a police escort.
