The patent images hint that the production-spec of the Classic 350 based Bobber is ready to hit the roads
It’s no secret that Royal Enfield is working on a new Bobber motorcycle based on the J-Platform as many test mules have been spotted in the recent past. However, patent images of the Royal Enfield Bobber 350 have emerged online raising speculation that it could soon be launched in the Indian market. The upcoming Royal Enfield Bobber 350 isn’t an all-new motorcycle but more of a variant based on the Classic 350.
What will distinguish the Bobber 350 is the various design elements such as a taller handlebar and slightly forward-set footpeg to give it a distinctive riding stance. Other visual differences include split grab rails, white-wall tyres and different seats. The seating setup seems to be similar to the Shotgun 650 in which the rear seat can be removed. This was also the case in the original Royal Enfield Classic 500, which was offered as a single-seat variant. In terms of features, the Classic 350 Bobber seems to feature the same instrument console as seen on its roadster sibling.
Mechanically, the Bobber 350 will feature the same 350cc engine as seen on all the J-Platform bikes. It will be interesting to see whether Royal Enfield engineers opt for a more relaxed tune as seen on the Classic/Bullet 350 or a sportier tune like the Meteor 350. The air-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivers 20.2 bhp and 27Nm and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Even the chassis, suspension and braking components are likely to be shared with the Classic 350.
While there is no official announcement from Royal Enfield, we expect the upcoming Bobber 350 to make its India debut by June, 2024. As for pricing the Royal Enfield Bobber 350 will be positioned in between the Classic 350 and the Meteor 350.
