Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Prices Hiked!

Royal Enfield has implemented an increase in the prices of the Himalayan 450. The new Royal Enfield ADV bike was introduced at a starting price of Rs 2.69 lakh last November. The price hike varies between ₹ 14,000 and ₹ 16,000. As a result, the starting price of the ADV bike now stands at ₹ 2.85 lakh, surpassing the initial price of the highest-tier colour option.

As you can see in the table above the price hike seems steep as we were expecting a price correction of around ₹10,000 which would have been a fair ask. Deliveries for the Himalayan 450 has commenced across the country but the sales figure for the same haven’t been released yet.   With another potential price hike the Himalayan might breach the ₹ 3 lakh threshold but a timeline on that is still not in sight. 

In terms of competition, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is now more expensive than the ₹ 2.63 lakh Triumph Scrambler 400 X. However, it has more features than the Triumph which does justify the price. Despite the hike, it remains more accessible than its direct competitor, the KTM 390 Adventure at ₹ 3.38 lakh and the BMW G 310 GS which retails for  ₹ 3.30 lakh
