The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally can be a completely new variant or an accessory add-on.
Royal Enfield appears to be expanding its adventure motorcycle lineup with a more off-road-focused version of the Himalayan 450, recently spotted testing on Indian roads. The new rally variant showcases several purpose-built modifications that enhance its off-road capabilities. All of these can be launched as a completely new model or just as an accessory pack. The rally variant was showcased alongside the new Himalayan 450, however it hasn’t been launched yet. According to RE officials, the rally version was part of the MIY programme for the Himalayan 450 but there have been no further announcements until the above bike was spotted testing.

Notable rally-specific upgrades include a distinctive rally tail cowl, knuckle guards, and an up-swept rally exhaust system. Perhaps the most significant addition is the new cross-spoke tubeless wheels, better suited for challenging terrain. The seat too is a single-piece unit, unlike the split seat as seen on the standard Himalayan 450. The bike might also feature adjustable USD fork, however, we could not confirm the same from the test mule sighting.
Beyond that, the standard Himalayan 450's 452 cc liquid-cooled engine, paired with a six-speed transmission, will likely remain the same. This mill currently churns out 40 bhp and 40 Nm. Either way, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally variant will provide off-road enthusiasts with a more capable alternative to the standard Himalayan 450. While Royal Enfield has not officially announced the motorcycle's launch, it is expected that it will be sometime in the first half of 2025.
