The price hike is for purchasing the rims as an accessory post the buying the bike and not via M-i-Y.
Royal Enfield has silently hiked the asking price of the cross-spoke wheels offered as an accessory on the Himalayan 450. For anyone looking to switch from the standard tube-type wheels to the upgraded cross-spoke wheels, the latter will now cost them a whopping ₹40,645. This is a staggering ₹28,221 hike over its debut price which was just ₹12,424.
However, this price hike seems non-uniform across the country. For when we inquired about the same, only Royal Enfield showrooms in Mumbai have gone ahead with this hike. Otherwise, in Kolkata, Bengaluru and Delhi, the cross-spoke tyres are still being sold at the same old price. When we asked Royal Enfield about the same the brand did not confirm the same and refused to comment on this disparity.
It is likely that the company will no longer pass the cost benefit to the buyers by offering the rims at an extremely subsidised cost. And even via M-i-Y, the spoke rims are no longer available immediately. It says the wheels are getting restocked.

The upgraded wheels come in three colour options: black, black olive, and gold. All colours cost the same amount, and buyers can choose based on which colour matches their motorcycle variant best.
This major price increase will likely cause many current Himalayan owners to abandon plans to upgrade to the tubeless wheel setup, given the much higher cost.

The Himalayan 450 motorcycle itself is priced between ₹2.85 lakh and ₹2.98 lakh before taxes and registration. It uses a 452 cc single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling that produces 40 bhp and 40 Nm, paired to a six-speed gearbox. This is one of the most enjoyable engines from Royal Enfields, and it’s great for touring. To find out how, check out our 500 km endurance run below:
