The Himalayan 452 will be the most hardcore off-road motorcycle from Royal Enfield yet.
With a few weeks remaining for the launch of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, the brand has started teasing images and small videos of the upcoming motorcycle. In the latest video, we can see that production for the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 has commenced at its factory on the outskirts of Chennai. The Himalayan 452 will go on sale in India on November 7 and we expect it to be priced between Rs 2.80 and Rs 2.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
Based on the teaser video, we get a glimpse of the new frame, which looks more petite than the older frame and that should help in keeping the weight under check and also enhancing the handling dynamics of the bike. The new Himalayan 452 will be 3 kg lighter than the older bike that tipped the scale at 199 kg.
Also, the white shade used on the bike shown in the teaser video is called Kamet White, the one on the Himalayan 411 is referred to as Snow White. Kamet is one of the tall peaks that one can find in the Himalayan range, so no prizes for guessing where the inspiration for the name came from. Makes you wonder whether the other colours we see will also have such inspired names. How about a Kanchenjunga Grey or K2 Black?
Apart from this one also gets a glimpse of the circular all-digital instrument console which will come with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation inbuilt. Powering the new Royal Enfield ADV bike is a 451.6 cc, single-cylinder and liquid-cooled motor churning out 39.5 bhp and a torque figure in the range of 37-40 Nm. The nature of this new engine will be very different from the older bike and performance numbers should be impressive. Competition for the upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycle comes in the form of the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS and the Yezdi Adventure.
