It is ₹ 5000 more than the base trim of the Super Meteor 650
Royal Enfield has launched the bike at price of ₹ 3.59 lakh. The Special Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition was introduced at the Motoverse 2023 for ₹ 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom). This is ₹ 66,000 less than that. It comes in just a single variant, and the prices of these variants go up to ₹ 3.73 Lakhs. In fact, it is ₹ 5000 more than the entry-level Astral trim of the Super Meteor 650.
Variant | Price (ex-showroom) |
---|---|
Sheetmetal Grey | ₹ 3,59,430 |
Green Drill | ₹ 3,70,138 |
Plasma Blue | ₹ 3,70,138 |
Stencil White | ₹ 3,73,000 |
The Shotgun 650 is based on the same platform that underpins the Super Meteor 650. It features the same 648 cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine, producing 46.40 bhp and 52.3 Nm. The bike is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. But despite the similarities, the final riding experience differs slightly due to the different final drive caused by the difference in wheel sizes between the two 650 cc cruisers.
It features a Showa-sourced 43mm USD fork with 120mm travel and twin shock absorbers with 90mm travel. The 320 mm front and 300 mm rear disc brake combination will also remain the same as the Super Meteor 650. Shotgun 650 is shod with a 100/90-18 cross-ply tyre at the front and a 150/70 R17 radial tyre at the rear.
It has a redesigned headlamp cowl, and the new fuel tank is slimmer compared to the Super Meteor 650. The fenders have undergone slight changes, and the engine now features a glossy finish instead of the matte black. Additionally, it is equipped with a classic 350 style peashooter-style dual exhaust. The Shotgun 650 offers four new color options: Stencil White, Green Drill, Plasma Blue, and Sheet Metal Grey.
It features a semi-analogue cluster, and the safety net includes dual-channel ABS as standard. It has a 13.8-litre fuel tank and a seat height of 795 mm. The bike has a kerb weight of 240 kg.
The footpegs have a neutral position, and the handlebar is slightly different, placing the rider in a neutral position. The handlebars are complemented with bar-end style mirrors, giving the bike a completed look. Additionally, the bike offers the option to remove the rear seat.
The only 2 other bobbers more affordable than the Shotgun 650 in the Indian market are from Jawa - the Perak at ₹ 2.13 lakh and the 42 bobber at ₹ 2.12 lakh. If you just consider the 650 range from Royal Enfield then the prices are INT 650 starts at ₹ 3.02 lakh, the Continental GT 650 at ₹ 3.18 lakh, and the Super Meteor 650 at ₹ 3.54 lakh (all ex-showroom).
