A total of 77 riders from different parts of the world will cover more than 2,600 km across the Spiti, Zanskar and Ladakh.
Royal Enfield's iconic motorcycling expedition, the Himalayan Odyssey, commenced its 21st edition yesterday with 77 riders riding out from Chandigarh for an 18-day journey through the upper Himalayas. The contingent includes participants from Argentina, the United States, Brazil, Germany, South Korea, and India.
The expedition will cover more than 2,600 km across the regions of Spiti, Zanskar, and Ladakh. Riders have been divided into two groups — Team Spiti and Team Zanskar — each following different routes through Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh before reconvening at Chandigarh.
Team Spiti will travel via Narkanda, Kalpa, and Kaza, continuing through Keylong and Sarchu before reaching Leh. The route then extends to Hanle and Umling La, currently recognised as the world's highest motorable pass, before returning through Padum, Jispa, and Manali. Team Zanskar will follow the same circuit in reverse, departing through Manali and Jispa to Padum, then proceeding to Leh and Umling La via Hanle, before completing their loop through Sarchu, Kaza, Kalpa, and Narkanda.
As part of Royal Enfield's #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter initiative, participants will implement sustainable practices throughout the journey, focusing on reducing plastic waste in the Himalayan region. To know more about the itinerary of the Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey, head to this link here.
