Only 25 units of this special custom bike will be made.
Royal Enfield has something extra special for everyone who is making their way down to its annual biking festival as it not only revealed the prices of the new Himalayan 450 but has also ridden in the brand new Shotgun Twin 650.

The new 650 cc family member takes a sportier approach to cruising than the Super Meteor 650. Just like the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 sharing nearly all of its hardware with ergonomic changes to offer a different riding experience, the same holds true for the cruisers also. So, on the bike that was on display we could make out that it had a flatter handlebar, a taller seat and mid-set footpegs, for a more sportier stance.

The key highlight of the motorcycle is the hand-painted fade paint job that looks really cool with the modern graphics. Other visual elements that we could spot were chopped fenders, pea-shooter exhaust muffler, redesigned alloy wheels, a different headlight nacelle and glossy finish on the engine case. Just like the new Interceptor 650, the Shotgun 650 also gets aluminum switchgear covers finished in black. The instrument console is the same single-pod, sem-digital unit as seen on the Super Meteor 650. While the bike on display had a floating single-seat, customers can also opt for a twin-seat variant too.

Its 648 cc heart, though, remains unchanged but we aren’t sure whether engine specs will be the same as that of the standard 650 twin which develops 46.35 bhp and 52.3 Nm. It’s likely to get a 6-speed gearbox but the footpeg position has been altered to better suit its DNA. The frame is unchanged, but the rake angle looked tighter and even the rear suspension appeared to be slightly different from that of the Super Meteor 650. What we can confirm are the smaller wheels and fatter tyres that enhance the stance of the bike.

Bookings for the new Royal Enfield Shotgun Twin 650 will commence on the official Royal Enfield website with a price tag of ₹ 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom). As mentioned before only 25 units of the bike will be built, making it one of the most exclusive Royal Enfield motorcycles to go on sale. Buyers will be chosen based on a lottery system and the results for which will be announced on November 26. Even though the new Royal Enfield Shotgun Twin 650 is a custom project by Royal Enfield, it has been homologated for road use and has received all the necessary approvals.
