This will be the unveil of the production version of the Shotgun 650 Twin with a few changes.
Royal Enfield has announced the global unveiling of the production version of the Shotgun 650, previously showcased as a limited edition. Here's what we expect from this production motorcycle which will be unveiled on December 13.
The main changes that are expected will be in terms of finish and paints. Royal Enfield is expected to offer the Shotgun 650 twin in five colours at max. Prices will vary according to colours, and we might also see a change in the tank badging. Other changes will be observed in components such as the handlebar switch holders, which were metallic on the custom bike but will now be plastic. The engine might also receive a different finish, but we still anticipate it to maintain an all-black appearance.
The bike is expected to feature a split seat setup with floating seats. There might be a single-seat option, but that could be reserved for the top variant in the lineup.
In terms of mechanical parts, the motorcycle is expected to remain entirely the same. The engine will be a 648 cc oil-cooled unit, producing 46.35 bhp and 52.3 Nm. It will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox. There will be no engine-based electronics, as seen on the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Custom Motorcycle.
The frame will retain the same split cradle frame as before. The suspension will also remain unchanged with telescopic front forks and dual shocks. Disc brakes will be present at both ends, with a 20 mm difference between them, complemented by dual-channel ABS. The tire size is also expected to remain the same.
In terms of pricing, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Twin is expected to start from ₹3.50 lakh and go up to ₹3.70 lakh, depending on the chosen colour options.
