New colours and other cosmetic changes
Royal Enfield has officially unveiled the production model of the Shotgun 650. This announcement comes after the earlier introduction of a custom model with limited numbers at the Motoverse Edition in November. The motorcycle has yet to be launched as a production Motorcycle in India, but we anticipate it will be available by mid-January 2024.
The Shotgun 650 is positioned as a factory-custom bobber, deriving inspiration from the Super Meteor 650. It features a distinct design and adjusted ergonomics. The base model is a single-seater, with an optional accessory seat for a pillion. The colour options include Stencil White, Green Drill, Plasma Blue, and Sheet metal Grey.
Powered by a 648cc, oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine, the Shotgun 650 delivers 46.40 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm at 5,650rpm. Equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and a standard slipper clutch, the motorcycle is designed for functional performance.
With a 100/90-18 tyre at the front and a 150/70 R17 tyre at the back on alloy wheels, the Shotgun 650 aims for practicality. Braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 300 mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard.
Featuring Showa separate function USD forks and Showa twin shocks, the motorcycle strives for a balance between comfort and performance. Suspension travels stand at 120 mm (front) and 90 mm (rear). The Shotgun 650 has a fuel tank capacity of 13.8 litres. Weighing in at 240 kg, it is a kilogram lighter than the Super Meteor 650.
When it eventually hits the market, the Shotgun 650 is expected to be priced around Rs. 3.80 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom). Do you think Royal Enfield has got the Bobber recipe right?
