C S Santosh was zipping the Stark dirt e-bike around the dirt track
After acquiring Stark Future in late December 2022, Royal Enfield showed off the Stark Varg electric dirt bike at the hands of C S Santosh at Motoverse 2023. In Santosh’s trusty hands, the Varg enthralled the audiences as we got our first glimpse of how Royal Enfield’s electric ambitions would translate into actual performance.
Again, the Varg e-bike ridden isn’t entirely something that can be purchased yet. Royal Enfield might have dirt racing ambitions, including perhaps going to Dakar soon, but the Varg will take some time before it goes into actual racing.
The Varg is basically available in two power options: 60 hp and 80 hp. It weighs just 118 kilos and has loads of customisable riding modes. Stark claims a riding time of 6 hours with a full charge of the 6.5 kWh battery taking anywhere between one and two hours. One can also spec it out according to their weight, and riding intention: motocross or enduro.
We are certainly keen to see how the Varg actually takes shape as even Hero’s Vida Concept Lynx is aiming to operate in the same space. Win win for dirt enthusiasts, we say.
