The Galaxy Watch Ultra leaked renders reveal some interesting design changes.
Samsung is set to launch a new addition to its Galaxy Watch lineup to directly compete with the Apple Watch Ultra. Previous rumours indicated the device could be called the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra or Galaxy Watch X. However, new information from certification listings suggests the watch will actually be called the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Smartprix and OnLeaks have exclusively leaked the first renders of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, giving us our first look at the new smartwatch's design. The renders reveal some interesting design changes compared to previous Galaxy Watch models.
Most notably, the Watch Ultra features a square design with a squircle frame and a circular display. This distinctive look marks a departure from the Galaxy Watch's traditional circular aesthetic. Despite the shift, the display remains rounded to ensure familiar usability.
Measurements show the Watch Ultra is slightly larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch6 Classic, due to the added bezel. The device is said to carry over the iconic rotating bezel controls beloved by Galaxy Watch fans.
Other upgrades include three buttons instead of two, larger speaker grilles, and a revised sensor array on the back. Under the hood, rumours suggest the Watch Ultra will use the new Exynos W1000 chip, which offers an improved battery life of up to 100 hours on a single charge. It is expected to support faster 10W charging with key health features like ECG, blood oxygen levels, and body composition measurements.
Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Watch Ultra alongside new foldable phones at the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10th. With its distinctive design and powerful specs, the Watch Ultra looks poised to offer serious competition to the Apple Watch Ultra.
