Samsung Has An Ambitious Target For Galaxy S25 Shipments In 2025

Samsung is set to elevate its smartphone manufacturing strategy with ambitious production plans for the purported Galaxy S25 series and foldable devices in the next year, says a report by The Elec.

Market Performance And Projected Growth

Samsung's Galaxy S24 line has demonstrated remarkable market success, driven significantly by novel Galaxy AI features. The current flagship series is projected to ship approximately 35 million units in 2024, surpassing last year's Galaxy S23 performance.

Building on this momentum, industry sources anticipate the Galaxy S25 series will potentially reach 37 million units, representing a two million unit increase, the report added.

Samsung's Growth

During second quarter (Q2) earnings, Samsung reported double-digit growth in Galaxy S24 series shipments and revenue compared to the previous year. Market intelligence firm Counterpoint Research highlighted the Galaxy S24's inclusion in the top ten best-selling phones during Q3 2024 -- a milestone not achieved since 2018.

Galaxy AI has been instrumental in differentiating Samsung's offerings, introducing features such as:

• Live Translate: Enables real-time, on-device language translation during phone conversations.
• Chat Assist: Provides AI-enhanced message proofing, grammatical error detection, and tone modification.
• Real-time message translation capabilities.

Samsung is strategically expanding its foldable phone production and it is projected to manufacture seven million units in 2025. Planned foldable models by Samsung include:

• Three million Galaxy Z Flip 7 units.
• 900,000 Galaxy Z Flip FE units.
• Two million Galaxy Z Fold 7 units.

Notably, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip remains the top-selling foldable phone model, reinforcing Samsung's market leadership in innovative smartphone design.
