Second Generation Skoda Kodiaq Revealed

Skoda has unveiled the second generation of the Kodiaq SUV. This is the company’s flagship SUV and it’s more feature packed that ever. On the exterior, the company has added LED Matrix headlights which grab your attention. The Kodiaq sees an increase in length of 60 mm which translates into more space for seven passengers and their luggage. Skoda says that it has also improved the model’s aerodynamics, achieving a coefficient drag value of 0.282. Major aerodynamic advancements were achieved by introducing active cooling shutters and redesigning the front and rear bumper.

Inside, the cabin is made of recycled textiles and leather originating from an eco-friendly tanning process. The infotainment display is now free-standing, with a screen diagonal of up to 13 inches. A head-up display is optionally available for the first time. The selector lever is now mounted on the steering column.

The new Skoda Smart Dials are a first for the company. They combine haptic controls with a 32 mm digital display, providing intuitive, easy and customisable access to numerous vehicle and infotainment functions. The new Phone Box enables inductive charging of two smartphones at a time, delivering 15W of power and also cooling the devices during the charging process.

There are 5 powertrains on offer, providing outputs from 148 bhp to 201 bhp. The Kodiaq is also now offered with a plug-in hybrid version, with an electric range of more than 100 kilometres. The two top engines are mated to all-wheel drive as standard.
