It is expected to be a budget version of the Simple One with its pricing below ₹ 1 lakh.
Simple Energy is set to unveil the Dot One electric scooter on December 15. With an expected pricing below ₹ 1 lakh, this electric scooter aims to compete with the Ola S1 X.
The Simple Dot One will have a fixed 3.7 kWh battery, claiming 151 kilometres of certified range and 160km in IDC. Power details are undisclosed, but speculations suggest a slightly less potent motor than its previous model, the Simple One’s 8.5 kW and 72 Nm unit to keep costs under check.
The Simple Dot One's design is expected to take inspiration from its predecessor, the Simple One. The company promises over 30 litres of storage space, although the exact capacity remains undisclosed.
Braking duties will be handled by drum brakes equipped with CBS as a disc brake setup might add to the price on this budget scooter. On the suspension front, a telescopic unit and a twin shock absorber is likely.
Features might include a non touchscreen instrument cluster with app connectivity, all-LED lighting, navigation, Bluetooth integration and message notifications. We might see the company cutting corners on features over the Simple One as this will be priced significantly lower.
Speaking about the upcoming electric scooter, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder & CEO, Simple Energy, said, “Today marks a significant chapter in the journey of Simple Energy as we proudly introduce the Simple Dot One, the latest affordable addition to our pioneering Simple One series. Our vision to deliver accessible electric mobility converges in the Simple Dot One, fusing sleek design with state-of-the-art features. We are eagerly anticipating its market launch, counting on the unwavering support of our esteemed customers.”
The company has officially announced that the launch date for the Simple Energy Dot One electric scooter is scheduled for December 15, 2023. Furthermore, they have revealed that deliveries will commence shortly thereafter, starting in January 2024.
