When launched, this family-oriented electric scooter from Simple Energy will compete against the likes of Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, Hero Vida VX2, Ola S1 X, and Kinetic DX Electric.
Simple Energy is preparing to bring a new family scooter to the mix. Although the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup entered the market with sporty models like the Simple One in 2021, followed by the One S and the second-generation One, it has recognised the need for a more mainstream offering in its portfolio to appeal to a broader audience.
A similar strategy was adopted by Ather Energy with the Rizta and Ola Electric with S1 X. Simple filed patents for its new “family” electric scooter in June last year with the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The same images were also published in the Intellectual Property India database.
Simple has filed fresh patents for its upcoming family-oriented scooter. The document reveals an application dated 5 January 2026. Based on the recent filings, the upcoming scooter appears to have a generous overall length — a characteristic typical of family-oriented electric scooters.

The front apron features a split LED headlamp setup flanked by a single-piece LED DRL at the bottom. The patents suggest that the handlebar cowl is likely to integrate the turn indicators. The scooter also appears to get stylish ORVM stalks and a large, flat floorboard that prioritises everyday practicality, while the side body panels carry a distinctive pill-shaped design element.

Behind the stepped, single-piece seat sits an interesting integrated unit that incorporates the pillion backrest and doubles as a split grab rail. At the rear, a horizontal taillight housing is visible and could also accommodate the rear turn indicators. The images show a five-spoke alloy wheel design, most likely 12-inch units. The scooter seems to feature a digital instrument cluster and a more basic switchgear compared to the Simple One.

Being the second set of patents filed, chances of this e-scooter reaching production are high. We don’t have any confirmation on its specs yet but we expect the upcoming scooter to focus more on range rather than outright performance. A more basic equipment list will help keep the price in check. Simple Energy’s entry into this strategic, high-volume electric scooter segment comes as the company prepares for a public listing in 2027. Last year, the company raised $10 million in a financing round aimed at expanding its retail network across India.
