The Simple OneS is the brand’s second offering after the Simple One Gen 1.5, and it replaces the Simple Dot One from before.
Simple Energy has expanded its product portfolio by replacing the Simple Dot One with the new Simple OneS. Priced at ₹1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, India), it slots below the Simple One Gen 1.5, which was launched last month at ₹1.66 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Despite a price difference of ₹27,000, the spec sheet of the new Simple OneS reads very similarly to its more premium sibling.
For starters, it is powered by the same 3.7 kWh fixed battery, but in the One S it is good for an IDC certified range of 181 km on a single charge, instead of the 248 km range it delivers on the One Gen 1.5. However, performance-wise, the new One S reserves the same impressive acceleration prowess as the One Gen 1.5 for it is powered by the same 8.5 kW PMS motor and can do the 0-40 kmph dash in 2.55 seconds. To tap this power efficiently, there are four ride modes on offer here: Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic.
Since the Simple One S is built on the same platform as the Gen One 1.5, key practical features like the 35-litre underseat storage space and a 770 mm seat continue unchanged. Similarly, the 7-inch TFT touchscreen instrument console has been carried forward too. This unit supports all the modern smartphone connectivity features we have already seen with the One Gen 1.5. From over-the-air updates, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), Find My Vehicle, Park Assist, and much more.
Simple Energy has not given us any specific delivery date. It was mentioned that the One S is available across all 15 Simple Energy showrooms in Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag, and Kochi. Like the Gen One 1.5, the new One S will also have three colour options: Brazen Black, Grace White, Azure Blue and Namma Red. “Our focus has always been on pushing the boundaries of technology to create smarter solutions, and the scooter is a testament to that. With enhanced features and improved affordability, we are making premium EV technology within reach for more riders, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience,” concluded Suhas Rajkumar, Founder & CEO, Simple Energy.
