Škoda Auto has commenced sales of the Kushaq SUV in Vietnam, marking the first Škoda model assembled locally in the country. The Kushaq is being assembled from completely knocked-down (CKD) kits shipped from India, leveraging synergies with the company’s operations under the India 2.0 strategy.

The move follows the inauguration of Škoda’s local assembly facility in March 2025, developed in partnership with the Vietnamese conglomerate Thanh Cong Group. The plant represents a strategic step in Škoda’s efforts to expand its footprint in the ASEAN region and cater to emerging markets through cost-effective production and regional integration.

In addition to the Kushaq, Škoda's portfolio in Vietnam currently includes the Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs, both imported from Europe. The company plans to expand its CKD-based local product line with the Slavia sedan, which will be assembled in Vietnam in the coming months.

Ahead of full-scale production, Škoda conducted extensive testing of the Kushaq to adapt it to Vietnam’s diverse driving conditions. Pre-series vehicles logged over 3.30 lakh km across the country, undergoing climate testing across a temperature range of -10°C to +42°C, along with evaluations under high humidity to ensure regional reliability.

Since entering the Vietnamese market in September 2023, Škoda has established 15 sales and service outlets across the country. This includes an ‘Experience Centre’ in Hanoi, designed to offer customers an immersive brand environment. Further expansion of the dealership and service network is planned through the remainder of 2025.
