Skoda Auto India has initiated a voluntary recall of 221 units of its flagship Kodiaq SUV due to a potential issue in the front seat inner frame. The affected vehicles were manufactured between 10 March 2025 and 8 December 2025.
The defect concerns the inner frame of the front seats, which could compromise the deployment of side airbags during a crash. This may increase injury risk to occupants on the event side, as the frame might fail under impact, affecting airbag reliability. Skoda has listed the recall on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) portal, confirming the proactive measure for customer safety.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted directly by Skoda for free inspections and repairs at authorised service centres.
Skoda has conducted several recalls in recent years for quality assurance. In 2025, the company recalled over 25,000 units of Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq models built between May 2024 and April 2025 due to a rear seatbelt issue posing risks to passengers. Another recall in July 2025 covered more than 800 Kushaq, Slavia, and Kodiaq units for a potential front axle tie rod defect. These actions underscore Skoda's commitment to transparency and vehicle safety in India.
