Skoda India has relaunched its flagship sedan, the Superb, at ₹54 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The brand says the Superb has been reintroduced in India after increasing demand from customers. While Skoda has released the fourth-gen Superb globally, India will get the facelifted third-gen model for the time being. Only 100 units of the Superb will be available in India and it will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU).

The Superb is offered in the top-spec Laurin & Klement (L&K) trim that comes with bells and whistles like a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, electrically-adjustable front seats, a 12-speaker sound system, triple-zone climate control, ambient lighting and more.

Safety features on the Superb include nine airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system, fatigue/drowsiness detection and parking assist, among others. The Superb also received a 5-star rating for adult and child occupant protection in the Euro NCAP safety tests.

Under the hood, the Superb continues with the 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 188 bhp and 320 Nm. Gearbox duties are handled by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit. Skoda says this engine has been updated to meet the new, stringent BS6.2 emissions norms. The Superb was discontinued in April 2023 due to the advent of these new emissions norms. It also gets Skoda’s Dynamic Chassis Control which gives it four preset suspension modes along with a customisable one.

Cosmetically, not much has changed in the Superb save for a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels. This design was seen on the fourth-gen Octavia before it was also discontinued in India. Furthermore, the Superb gets two new colour options – Rosso Brunello and Water World Green – and will be offered alongside the Magic Black colour option.
