Cargo vehicle volumes drove much of that growth, climbing 28 per cent over the period, while passenger vehicle (PV) sales expanded by 12 per cent.
SML Mahindra recorded a 6 per cent rise in total vehicle sales during March 2026, shifting 2,457 units compared with the same month a year earlier, as the commercial vehicle (CV) maker posted gains across both its cargo and passenger vehicle ranges on Wednesday.
The stronger performance carried through the full financial year FY2025-26, with total sales reaching 16,632 units which is a 17 per cent increase from the previous year. Cargo vehicle volumes drove much of that growth, climbing 28 per cent over the period, while passenger vehicle (PV) sales expanded by 12 per cent.
The figures mark a broad advance for the company formerly known as SML Isuzu Limited, which manufactures trucks and buses for freight and passenger operators across India.
The higher jump in cargo volumes points to firmer demand in goods transportation, a segment sensitive to wider economic activity and supply chain conditions. Meanwhile, the steadier growth in passenger vehicles suggests bus demand has held up across public and private transit routes.
This the full-year momentum may be seen as evidence of improving capacity utilisation and a strengthening revenue base, factors that could boost confidence in the company's medium-term prospects within the domestic commercial vehicle sector.
