Automakers Stellantis and Nissan Motor are in discussions to acquire selected assets from Japanese automotive supplier Marelli Holdings as part of wider efforts to support the company's restructuring, according to a Bloomberg News report, citing people familiar with the matter. The report noted that Stellantis is considering the acquisition of Marelli's suspension business in Italy and certain other markets, while Nissan is evaluating the supplier's cockpit business in Japan.
The proposed transactions are understood to form part of broader negotiations aimed at stabilising troubled Marelli's operations.
