Studds becomes the first helmet brand in India to get listed.
Studds Accessories Limited, the largest helmet manufacturer in our country, announced the opening of its initial public offering (IPO) yesterday. The Studds IPO will go live on October 30 and conclude on November 3 as for anchor investors, the IPO window opens on October 29. The price band for the Studds IPO has been set between ₹557 and ₹585 per equity share and the minimum bid is for 25 equity shares. In total, 6,700,000 equity shares are up for grabs.
The equity shares will be listed on both BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited, with BSE designated as the primary stock exchange. With the IPO, the company plans to raise ₹455 crore. The company has three manufacturing facilities with a combined production capacity of 9 million units and the company sold 7,4 million helmets in FY2025. Studds is also the largest helmet supplier to OEMS such as Hero MotoCorp, Honda Cars India, Suzuki Motorcycle India, Royal Enfield and Yamaha. While the bulk of the sales is from the Studds range of helmets, it also established SMK, a premium range of helmets which have better safety ratings.
Apart from helmets, the company also has a range of riding gear which is priced competitively compared to its rivals. Studds also has its own range of accessories and the company feels that the accessory and the riding gear segment has huge potential of growth as the segment remains untapped.
