Suzuki Germany has introduced the new GSX-8R Daidai-Iro special edition, bringing new paint scheme and accessories to the middleweight motorcycle. The Japanese term "Daidai-Iro" means orange, and unsurprisingly, the GSX-8R gets the Glass Blaze Orange paint finish. There are extra accessories, including a smoked screen, a transparent tank protection film, Gilles billet aluminium brake and clutch levers. The special edition also gets a two-tone seat with the GSX logo.
Furthermore, the Suzuki GSX-8R Daidai-Iro Power Edition comes equipped with an Akrapovič exhaust system. The exhaust unit features a complete system with ABE (German type approval) comprising headers and silencer, which gives the twin-cylinder engine a performance boost. Power comes from the 776 cc DOHC parallel-twin motor tuned for 82 bhp and 78 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. You also get an Easy Start system and Low RPM assist.
Suspension duties are handled by a Showa SFF-BP upside-down fork and a monoshock at the rear. Braking performance comes from disc brakes at either end with dual-channel ABS and three-stage traction control. The GSX-8R comes with vertically stacked LED twin headlamps and a TFT display, riding modes, and Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS). The Suzuki GSX-8R Daidai-Iro Power Edition bundles up the accessories, making it a more affordable package, saving customers 211 Euros over buying the accessories individually.
The GSX-8R continues to be on sale in India but it needs to be seen if the special edition will make its way to the market.
