Suzuki has expanded its middleweight portfolio with the introduction of two fresh additions – the Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT. Both motorcycles feature classic aesthetics that draw inspiration from the motorcycles of the 60s and 70s. The GSX-8T is inspired from the Suzuki T500, while the GSX-8TT seeks inspiration from the Yoshimura GS1000. Interestingly, the concepts of these Japanese bikes were initially designed by the Italians, which was then later refined by the folks at Suzuki. Both the Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT have been launched in the UK, wherein the former is priced at £9,599 (approximately ₹11.19 lakh), while the latter costs £9,999 (approximately ₹11.65 lakh).
Underneath that neo-retro design, both the Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT are built around the steel frame as seen on the GSX-8R, 8S, and V-Strom 800 DE. It is even powered by the same 776cc parallel-twin engine featuring a 270-degree crankshaft. This power plant delivers 82 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of peak torque at 6,800 rpm. However, the engine is fed by a new 16.5-litre fuel tank which should help make travel more compared to the likes of the GSX-8R and 8S which gets a 14-litre fuel tank. We’ve really loved this engine especially which further helped its case to win the Premium Performance Motorcycle Of The Year Award at the 2025 Acko Drive TOTM award.

As for the suspension components, both bikes use KYB-sourced USD fork and a monoshock unit. However, the USD fork is painted golden on the GSX-8T, whereas on the 8TT the same is painted black. Brakes are the same as well, wherein both bikes use twin 310 mm front discs with radially-mounted Nissin callipers, complemented by a 240 mm rear disc with single-piston calliper.
Feature-wise, the new Suzuki duo are on par with its GSX brethrens. Both use the same TFT console with all the smartphone connectivity features. Via throttle-by-wire, Suzuki also gets you three different traction control and power mode settings. Along with that, the standard equipment list also includes a bi-directional quickshifter, Suzuki's easy-start system, and low-rpm assistance to prevent stalling at slow speeds, and a USB type-C socket for quick charging.

Suzuki hasn’t confirmed the launch of either the GSX-8T or GSX-8TT in India. However, we do hope that the brand considers these neo-retro bikes for our country. If yes, then the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT will have the likes of the Triumph Trident 660, Honda Hornet 750 and the Ducati Scrambler.
