The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer will target India's growing anime fan base with this themed vehicle collaboration.
Suzuki has partnered with the popular Naruto Shippuden anime franchise to launch a special edition version of its Avenis scooter in India. The collaboration was announced at the 'Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!!' festival in New Delhi. This is the second collaboration from any two-wheeler manufacturer with reference to popular culture, with TVS being the first one with its Avenger series for the Ntorq 125 scooter.
The special edition Suzuki Avenis will feature a silver base colour with Naruto-themed graphics displayed along the side panels. The scooter retains all the technical specifications of the standard model. Beyond that, the rest of the scooter will remain standard. It will continue to be powered by the same 124.3 cc air-cooled engine that produces 8.58 bhp and 10 Nm. Standard features on the scooter include a front storage compartment with a USB socket, an external fuel cap, and 21.8 litres of storage space beneath the seat.
Suzuki has not announced pricing details or availability dates for the special edition model yet, though. However, the collaboration represents the company's latest effort to connect with younger consumers in the Indian market through pop culture partnerships. After all, Naruto Shippuden is one of Japan's most popular anime and manga series, following the adventures of a young ninja. The franchise has built a significant following worldwide, including among Indian audiences.
The Suzuki Avenis 125 will continue to compete against the likes of the TVS Ntorq 125 and Hero Xoom 125.
