Order consists of 10 Metrocity & 60 Slimline Solo buses.
Switch Mobility has secured an order for 70 buses from Stagecoach, one of the United Kingdom’s bus operators. The order consists of 10 Metrocity 9.5 m electric buses and 60 Slimline Solo 8.5 m Euro 6-compliant buses. The former will go into service by early 2024, while the latter during the first half of next year.
The new Slimline Solo buses ordered by Stagecoach will help it replace a majority of the existing fleet of the Solo buses already plying across the UK. The Solo will be sold to Stagecoach as the Optare Solo, as the Optare brand has been integrated under Switch Mobility.

Mahesh Babu, Chief Executive Officer, Switch Mobility, said, Stagecoach’s repeat order for the Metrocity electric bus, following the recent delivery of 20 buses in London, is testament to the efficiency and versatility of the Metrocity.
The Metrocity EV bus gets up to 260kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery with a range of up to 234 km on a single charge. The Metrocity buses will ply on Route W11 in London.
