Tata Motors will adopt a hybrid structure for Avinya’s dedicated retail network that will encompass physical touchpoints as well as online platforms.
Tata Motors first unveiled the Avinya electric concept in 2022, confirming it as a standalone brand that will underpin a new range of premium electric vehicles. The company has now confirmed that the first model under the Avinya range will make its debut towards the end of CY2026.
The homegrown carmaker has not disclosed detailed specifications of the upcoming model but has confirmed that the Avinya brand will span multiple body styles, with the first launch expected to be an SUV. The Avinya range is being co-developed by Tata Motors in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover, although the company has not detailed the extent of JLR’s involvement in the programme.
Tata Motors stated that the upcoming range of premium EVs under the Avinya brand will have its dedicated sales network. This means that Avinya brand will have its own set of dealerships, showrooms, and service network. Further, Avinya retail network will adopt a hybrid structure that will encompass physical touchpoints as well as online retail platforms, although specific details are still under wraps.

The Avinya range of electric vehicles will be based on Tata’s new Gen 3 EV architecture, a dedicated skateboard-style platform developed exclusively for battery-electric models. Designed to enable long-range capability, fast charging, and advanced software integration, the architecture also offers improved structural efficiency and flexible packaging in order to accommodate a wide range of body styles with different sizes.
While the exact battery capacity for Avinya still remains a mystery, initial details will support an ultra-fast charge capability that could juice up 500 km in under 30 minutes. The concept model of the Avinya showcased a clean, minimalist cabin with a lounge-like feel and a flat floor to maximise usable space. The design is expected to prioritize sustainable materials and a minimalist, clutter-free layout, emphasizing comfort and a premium experience over traditional SUV or MPV conventions.
