Tata is expected to price the Harrier EV in the ₹25–30 lakh range (ex-showroom), positioning it as a premium electric SUV.
Tata Motors is poised to reinforce its leadership in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) space with the launch of the Harrier EV, scheduled for June 3. The Harrier EV will become the sixth electric offering from the homegrown automaker, following models like the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV and the Curvv EV. First revealed as a concept at the 2020 Auto Expo, and later showcased in a more production-ready form at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the Harrier EV marks a significant step in Tata’s transition to premium electric SUVs.

Unlike its internal combustion engine (ICE) sibling, the Harrier EV is based on Tata’s new Acti.ev Gen 2 architecture, a dedicated electric vehicle platform designed to accommodate advanced battery packs and dual-motor configurations. While it shares much of its exterior silhouette with the ICE Harrier, the EV version receives distinct design cues, including an enclosed body-coloured grille, redesigned bumpers, sequential LED indicators, and updated alloy wheels. The charging port is located on the vehicle’s right-hand side.
Spy shots and earlier teasers confirm that the cabin layout remains largely similar to the ICE version. Tata is likely to offer the Harrier EV in multiple variants, including a Stealth Edition featuring an all-black interior, and a standard variant with a dual-tone dashboard. A 12.3-inch infotainment system sourced from Harman and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster will be among the key interior highlights.

Other expected features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer, dual-zone climate control, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, front ventilated seats, ambient lighting, and Tata’s connected car suite. The SUV is also slated to offer vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities, extending its utility beyond daily driving.
Safety remains a focal point in the Harrier EV’s development. The SUV is expected to come equipped with seven airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.

Tata Motors has confirmed that the Harrier EV will employ a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive layout. While detailed specifications remain under wraps, the company has revealed that the SUV will deliver 500 Nm of torque. Promotional material has showcased the vehicle climbing steep gradients of up to 34 degrees, highlighting its off-road capabilities. The electric SUV is anticipated to offer a driving range exceeding 500 km on a single charge, although battery capacity and charging times have yet to be disclosed.
Tata is expected to price the Harrier EV in the ₹25–30 lakh range (ex-showroom), positioning it as a premium electric SUV. This will pit it directly against Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUVs, such as the Mahindra XEV 9e, as well as the upcoming Mahindra XEV 7e.
