Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Harrier EV in India on June 3, 2025, marking the brand’s latest step into the electric SUV segment. Based on the same platform as the ICE-powered Harrier, the electric variant brings with it notable upgrades in design, features, and drivetrain, underpinned by Tata’s new Acti.ev architecture. A near-production version of the Harrier EV was showcased earlier at the 2025 Auto Expo. The Tata Harrier EV will compete with rivals such as the Mahindra XUV 9e, and BYD Atto 3, and is expected to be priced from around ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design-wise, the Harrier EV differentiates itself with a cleaner, more aerodynamic front fascia. It features a blanked-off grille and a redesigned bumper with vertical slats—a styling cue similar to that of the upcoming Tata Curvv EV. The connected LED DRLs and headlamps remain, but now include welcome and goodbye animations to enhance the visual appeal. Along the sides, the Harrier EV sports aero-specific alloy wheels and a subtle ‘.ev’ badge on the front doors, distinguishing it from its ICE counterpart.
At the rear, the EV version retains the familiar connected LED tail lamps—again with animated lighting effects—and a revised bumper design that mirrors the front. These changes offer a more streamlined and futuristic look, in line with the visual identity of Tata’s growing EV portfolio.
The cabin of the Harrier EV is largely identical to the internal combustion version but adopts a more contemporary dual-tone grey and white interior theme, as seen in models like the Nexon EV and Curvv EV. The layout features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, and a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. The Harrier EV also carries forward premium features such as powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, JBL sound system, and connected car technology.
One of the standout additions is Tata’s Summon Mode, a remote-controlled parking assist that allows the car to move forward or backwards using the key fob. The Harrier EV will also include EV-specific technologies such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) and Vehicle-To-Vehicle charging (V2C).
In terms of safety, the Harrier EV will offer a robust package including seven airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. It will also be equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite.
While Tata Motors has yet to officially disclose the battery specifications, the company has confirmed the Harrier EV will feature all-wheel drive capability and an estimated range of over 500 km on a full charge. This range positions it competitively within the current EV landscape in India. A major mechanical upgrade includes the multi-link rear suspension setup, expected to significantly improve ride comfort and handling dynamics compared to the standard Harrier.
