The Tata Harrier EV received 5 stars for both adult and child occupant protection tests.
The Tata Harrier EV is the latest car to be tested by the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), scoring a perfect 5 stars in the crash test. BNCAP tested the variants of the larger battery pack- Empowered 75 & Empowered 75 AWD, but mentioned that the ratings apply to all variants of the Harrier EV. The Tata Harrier EV received 5 stars for both adult and child occupant protection tests. The Tata Harrier EV scored 32 points out of 32 in the adult occupant protection tests, while in the child occupant protection tests, it secured 45 points out of a total of 49.

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Harrier EV managed to secure 16 points out of 16. BNCAP noted ‘good’ protection for both the front passengers as well as for the driver’s chest and left tibia. In the side movable deformable barrier test, it scored 16 points out of 16. BNCAP noted ‘good’ protection for the head, stomach and pelvic regions, along with the chest protection. In the side impact pole test, the Harrier EV received an 'OK' rating.

For the child occupant protection tests, the Tata Harrier EV got 45 points in the Dynamic and Child Restraint System (CRS) installation system, i.e., 24 out of 24 points and 12 out of 12 points, respectively. In the vehicle assessment test, the Harrier EV secured 9 points out of a total of 13. As always, BNCAP tested the Harrier EV with the dummies of 18-month-old and 3-year-old children.

The Harrier EV comes with a host of safety features. It has seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, roll-over protection, hill hold control, three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats and ISOFIX child seat mounts, among others.
