Tata Motors Group has revealed its global sales report for the third quarter of the financial year 2024 (FY2024). The report also takes into account the global sales figures of Jaguar Land Rover. In the third quarter of FY2024, both manufacturers retailed a total of 3,38,177 units in the global market, which is a 9 per cent increase in sales compared to the global sales of Q3 FY2023.
On the other hand, the Tata Motor Group’s passenger vehicles which include the likes of the Tata Safari, Harrier, Nexon, etc registered global sales growth of 5 per cent in this period, compared to sales of the same period last year. For the uninitiated, Tata Motors Group has dealerships across four continents in 26 countries.
Tata Motors Group’s commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range also registered a 1 per cent growth in sales in the third quarter of FY2024, with 98,679 units sold.
However, it should be noted here that in the domestic market, Tata Motors registered a 10 per cent depreciation in sales with its SCV cargo and pickup vehicles. Its passenger carriers registered a strong 19 per cent growth, while its Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) and Light Commercial Trucks registered growth of 7 per cent and 9 per cent in the third quarter of FY24, compared to the same period last year.
Tata Motors Group’s Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) witnessed a strong growth of 27 per cent in the third quarter of FY2024. A total of 12,149 vehicles were sold in the global market, whereas Land Rover sold 88,894 vehicles in the global market in this period.
Tata Motors recently debuted its brand new all-electric EV architecture christened ‘acti.ev’ Alongside it also debuted the Tata Punch.ev which is underpinned by this very new platform.
At the same event, Tata Motors also announced that it will be launching five new electric vehicles in India in the next 18 months. These upcoming models include the Sierra.ev, Harrier.ev, and Currv.ev and all will all be built on the ‘acti.ev’ platform.
