Top Five Players Dominate Market Landscape

Tata Motors retained its market leadership position with 619 units sold in September 2025, capturing a 33.5% market share. The commercial vehicle giant demonstrated strong momentum with a 41% month-on-month increase from 439 units in August 2025 and maintained steady year-on-year growth of 37.9% from 449 units in September 2024

Mahindra Group emerged as the second-largest player with 274 units, representing a 14.8% market share. The company showcased exceptional performance with remarkable 585% year-on-year growth, surging from just 40 units in September 2024. Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited closely followed with 273 units and an identical 14.8% market share, delivering an outstanding 600% year-on-year growth from 39 units in the previous year.

Switch Mobility Automotive Limited, the electric vehicle arm of Ashok Leyland, secured the fourth position with 160 units and 8.7% market share. Despite experiencing a 41.4% month-on-month decline from 273 units in August 2025, the company maintained strong annual growth of 90.5% compared to 84 units in September 2024.

Olectra Greentech Limited rounded out the top five with 148 units, capturing 8% market share. The company demonstrated impressive month-on-month growth of 51% from 98 units in August 2025 and sustained year-on-year growth of 41% from 105 units in September 2024.

In August 2025, Switch Mobility held the second position with 273 units (15.1% market share), while Mahindra Group and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility were positioned third and fourth respectively. However, September witnessed Mahindra entities climbing to second and third positions, displacing Switch Mobility to fourth place.
