Tata Motors has revealed ‘Tata.Cars’ as its new customer-facing identity for the passenger vehicle division. While the cars continue to carry the same ‘T’ logo, the automaker is consolidating its ICE models under Tata.Cars. The Tata.EV division will continue separately as a different identity for the automaker’s electric vehicle range, although it will fall under the wider Tata.Cars umbrella.
The new Tata.Cars name will be visible across the carmaker’s communications to customers. This includes the showrooms, physical and digital touch points, after-sales and service operations, as well as the marketing material. However, this does not change the legal identity for the manufacturer, which will continue as Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles for statutory filings, manufacturing plants, official contracts and regulatory obligations.

Tata says the new identity aims to formalise what the customers have always referred to the brand as “Tata cars. It also simplifies the name for easy communication with a newer, younger customer base. At the centre of the change is the visual, verbal and sonic ecosystem designed to create a distinctive and consistent brand experience. The company is using a new typeface called Parallel Pathways, inspired by the parallel geometry of the TATA 'T'. There’s a new colourway called Ambition Blue, which is a contemporary evolution of Tata’s iconic blue and represents optimism, confidence and forward momentum. Tata also has a new sonic identity.
Speaking about the new identity, Shailesh Chandra, MD & CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, "For decades, we have grown alongside India’s aspirations, helping make the future more accessible through meaningful innovation. From India’s first indigenous car to pioneering electric mobility and making safety mainstream, we have consistently challenged limits and expanded possibilities for millions of customers. Yet, we believe our boldest ambitions remain ahead of us. Today, we proudly introduce TATA.CARS. More than a new brand identity, it is a declaration of intent for the future we envision. Anchored in the promise, ‘Nothing’s Too Far’, it conveys our belief that mobility should open doors, embrace possibilities and empower people to get closer to what matters most to them. As the world moves towards a more connected, intelligent and sustainable future, TATA.CARS will continue creating breakthrough products, experiences and ecosystems that help customers unlock new possibilities and pursue their ambitions without limits.”
Tata has begun updating its dealer touchpoints to reflect the new identity, as well as its digital and social touch points.
