Upon launch, the updated Tata Punch EV will square off against the Citroen eC3.

Tata is gearing up to launch the facelifted Punch EV on 20 February. First launched in early 2024, this will be the first major update to the battery-powered sub-compact SUV. The company has already revealed the design of the updated Punch EV in its entirety along with a few other important details. Let us look at what we know so far about the upcoming Tata Punch EV facelift.

Tata Punch EV Facelift: Exterior

The exterior of the 2026 Tata Punch.ev will be heavily updated. Previously released images from Tata indicate that the Punch EV will feature a revised front fascia with a fully sealed grille, complemented by slim LED daytime running light (DRL) signatures on either side. Unlike earlier versions, the latest iteration omits the connected LED DRL strip. The triangular headlamp cluster is positioned lower on the bumper and incorporates a fog lamp.

Further down, the front bumper’s scuff plate has been subtly reworked. At the rear, the facelifted model is expected to receive a new connected LED taillamp arrangement, similar to that of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart introduced a few months ago. The image also highlights a new Neon Yellow exterior colour option.

The facelifted Punch EV will also boast of an updated colour palette with the addition of two new colour schemes Bengal Rouge and Yellow. The current iteration of the electric SUV is offered in five shades including Pureblack Majestic, Pristinewhite Pure, Empoweredoxide Empower, Dazebrown Sparkle, and Calgreenblue Dazzle.

Tata Punch EV Facelift: Interiors & Features

We still don’t have visual confirmation but the Punch EV is expected to share the same interior layout and features as its combustion-fueled sibling which recently got facelifted last month. The most significant upgrade is likely to be a larger 12.3-inch infotainment system running the new software interface seen on the Nexon EV.

Additional features expected to be offered include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera, a six-speaker audio system, an auto-dimming IRVM, connected car technology, and ambient lighting. The Punch EV facelift is also anticipated to enhance safety with the inclusion of a Level 2 ADAS suite as part of its overall package.

Tata Punch EV Facelift: Battery & Motor

The outgoing Tata Punch EV is available with two battery pack options — 25 kWh and 35 kWh – that claim ARAI-rated range of 265 km and 365 km, respectively. The motor paired with the 25 kWh battery delivers 81 bhp and 114 Nm of torque, while the 35 kWh battery pack is coupled with a more powerful unit that produces 120 bhp and 190 Nm of peak torque. There are rumours of Tata replacing the 25 kWh battery and bringing a larger 45 kWh unit that is used in the Tata Nexon EV. However, there is no confirmation on the same.
