Till March 2026, Tata Motors has received over 100,000 bookings for the Sierra that has led to a 3-month waiting period for the SUV.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) saw a rare feat as a display car was dented by a six. In the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, a six from all-rounder Cameron Green damaged and put a dent on the front left fender of the Tata Sierra displayed at the side of the ground.

Green struck the ball clean off a full length delivery by GT pacer Ashok Sharma that landed on the fender of the display model kept at a podium outside the boundary. The car left a noticeable dent which the company has shared on its social media handles. At the same time, Tata Motors has announced that every time the ball hits the display car, the company will contribute ₹5 lakh towards cricketing kits that will support the growth of grassroots cricket in India.

Tata Motors launched the all-new Sierra in December 2025 at a starting price of ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the SUV officially commenced across all Tata dealerships from 16 December whereas deliveries for the same began from January this year.

Tata Sierra: Powertrain Specs

The next-generation Tata Sierra will be offered with both internal combustion engine (ICE) and all-electric powertrains, with the ICE variants likely to arrive first. Its engine lineup is set to feature the familiar 1.5-litre Kryojet turbo-diesel seen in the Nexon and Curvv, alongside a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit and a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Transmission choices will vary by engine and are expected to include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque-converter automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. While the Sierra will initially be available in a front-wheel-drive configuration, Tata Motors has confirmed that an all-wheel-drive version will be introduced at a later stage.
