Tata Sierra EV Gets Voice-Controlled In-Car Payments via ToneTag DrivePay

ToneTag, a deep-tech proximity commerce platform, announced the integration of its DrivePay ecosystem into the recently-launched Tata Sierra EV. Natively integrated into the electric vehicle's infotainment system, DrivePay introduces a voice-led commerce layer that allows drivers to place coffee orders, top up FASTag balances, and find payment-ready EV charging stations along their route hands-free, without switching applications or interrupting their journey.

The voice-driven interface enables contextual actions based on destination and driver intent. Merchant ordering capabilities launch with Blue Tokai Coffee as the initial integrated partner. For EV charging, the system automatically filters nearby payment-ready charging points based on battery capacity and route relevance, simplifying stopping decisions for EV owners. To protect transactions, DrivePay utilises encryption, secure authentication layers, and compliance safeguards.

Sven Patuschka, Chief Technology Officer at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, noted that DrivePay addresses key user friction points around charging payments and connected-car experiences. Vivek Kumar Singh, Co-Founder and Director - Labs at ToneTag, stated that the integration moves mobility towards becoming an intelligent connected ecosystem where commerce is embedded directly into everyday travel.

ToneTag plans to explore future integrations covering quick-service restaurants, fuel payments, and hyperlocal commerce, while Tata Motors continues scaling its zero-emission and connected vehicle portfolio.
