The Sierra’s electric version will launch in 2025, followed by the ICE version.
Tata Motors showcased the Sierra concept at the 2025 Auto Expo and now it has been spotted testing on the road, hinting that Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the SUV in India very soon. The Sierra will come with ICE and Electric powertrains with the latter likely to make its debut first, followed by the ICE version.
The test mule, despite its heavy disguise, is easily identifiable as a Sierra because of its unique design and stance. The Sierra has a boxy design language that is reminiscent of the original Sierra, which was an iconic model for Tata Motors in the 1990s.
Because the test mule was heavily camouflaged, not many design details of the Sierra are visible, but the spy shots did reveal a few key details about the upcoming SUV. The Sierra will get ADAS with modules in the windshield and front bumper. Interestingly, the test mule can be seen with steel wheels and plastic covers. While it could indicate that the lower-spec variants of the Sierra could get the safety feature, it should be taken with a pinch of salt since it is just a test mule.
While the interior of the car is not evidently visible in the spy shots, we do know that the top-spec variants of the Sierra will get a triple screen layout that will likely have three 12.3-inch screens laid out across the dashboard. Other features in the Sierra are likely to include a Harman-tuned music system, illuminated steering wheel, connected car tech and more.
Under the hood, the ICE Sierra will debut Tata Motors’ new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and is also likely to get the 2.0-litre diesel engine from the Harrier and Safari. The Sierra will also get an electric version, like we said earlier, but its details are still under wraps.
