Tata has partnered with Hopcharge to roll out on-demand mobile EV charging services across Delhi NCR.
Tata Motors’ electric mobility arm, Tata.ev, has entered into a strategic partnership with Hopcharge to introduce on-demand mobile charging services for electric vehicle owners across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Through this service, customers can schedule a charging session via a dedicated platform, following which a mobile charging unit is dispatched to their location to power the vehicle on-site. This offering is particularly beneficial for EV users residing in apartment complexes, rented properties or locations where installing private charging infrastructure may be impractical or restricted.
As part of a limited promotional programme, customers purchasing a Tata EV through authorised dealerships will be eligible for complimentary doorstep charging services, subject to applicable terms and conditions. Customers are advised to connect with their nearest dealership for further details. Additional information is available at tataxhopcharge.com.
The initiative addresses one of the key barriers to EV adoption in urban India: access to reliable and convenient charging infrastructure. Despite the expansion of public charging networks, challenges persist in high-density regions such as Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad, particularly for users without access to overnight home charging facilities.
Mobile charging solutions are increasingly emerging as a viable alternative to conventional charging infrastructure. By enabling the charger to reach the vehicle rather than requiring the vehicle to visit a charging station, the model offers flexibility for users in apartment-heavy neighbourhoods or areas with limited dedicated parking.
Tata continues to expand its EV ecosystem to support electric mobility adoption in India, while Hopcharge brings operational expertise in deploying mobile EV charging units within the NCR.
