The new Tesla Model Y L is slotted between the Standard and Long Range variants.
Tesla set foot in India last year with the launch of Model Y. Initially available in two variants — Standard and Long Range, the American EV giant has now expanded the Model Y lineup with an additional variant. Called the Model Y L, this variant offers an extended wheelbase over the other two variants and comes in three-row, six-seat layout.
The company has listed this new trim on its website at a price of ₹ 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which means it will be slotted between the Standard and Long Range, priced at ₹59.89 lakh and ₹67.89 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively. Deliveries of this new variant will start June 2026 onwards.
The overall design of the Model Y L stays largely unchanged, with only minor revisions to the roofline and rear styling. The new variant also introduces exclusive 19-inch Machina 2.0 alloy wheels, along with a fresh Silver exterior paint option. However, the dimensions have been updated.

The EV measures 4,976 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,668 mm in height. Compared to the standard version, it is 186 mm longer and 44 mm taller, while width remains the same. The wheelbase has been extended to 3,040 mm, an increase of 150 mm, directly benefiting cabin space. Ground clearance stands at 169 mm.
The key highlight of this vehicle is its packaging. It is a six-seater with a comfort-focused 2+2+2 seating layout. The second row gets individual captain seats equipped with power-retractable inner armrests, power two-way folding, and heating functions.

At the rear, the third row features 50:50 split-folding seats and includes practical additions such as USB Type-C ports, cupholders, and dedicated AC vents mounted on the C-pillar. With both the second and third rows folded, the Model Y L offers up to 2,539 litres of boot space, compared to 2,138 litres in the standard version. Both rows can also be folded electronically using controls located in the cargo area. Additionally, the frunk continues to provide 116 litres of storage capacity.

Tesla hasn’t mentioned the exact battery capacity for this variant but the international-spec model gets an 88 kWh unit for the same. The company claims to offer a range of 681 km on full charge. The big highlight is that the Model Y L is the first Tesla in India to come with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup. As for performance, the Model Y L can clock a top speed of 201 kmph and can accelerate 0 to 100 kmph in 5 seconds.
