From bedroom poster bikes to daily usable ones, 2024 didn’t stop surprising us.
2024 was full of surprises for us bike enthusiasts in India. From Austria to the UK to Japan – renowned bike manufacturers from these countries didn’t hold back from bringing some of its most exquisite builds to India. Here are the top 5 premium bikes that were launched in India in 2024 —
Kawasaki started its 2024 campaign early with the new ZX-6R. Not entirely new from the ground up, the 2024 Kawasaki ZX-6R debuted in the country with a ZX-10R-inspired fairing design, more tech and features, all at a very lucrative asking price for just ₹11.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). What made the ZX-6R more exclusive is that it is the only proper, performance-oriented fully-faired middleweight sports bike in India. The Triumph Street Triple 765 RS is the nearest competition, in terms of powertrain, but it still can’t match up to the level of track-worthiness that the Japanese bike has on offer here.
KTM’s flagship hyper-naked sport offering – the 1390 Super Duke R – arrived in India in late 2024. Built around a new, bigger 1,350 cc V-twin engine that produces 10 bhp and 5 Nm more than before (190 bhp/ 145 Nm), the new 1390 Super Duke R is as aggressive as it looks. At ₹22.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), this orange bike is quite an expensive affair. However, if you want to commit to it, there are several reasons here that will keep you happy. Head to the link here to know them all.
The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono made waves in India's premium motorcycle segment in 2024, establishing itself as the country's most expensive and powerful single-cylinder motorcycle. Despite its premium price tag of ₹16.50 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi), the bike created a unique space for itself by combining racing heritage with cutting-edge technology. The 659 cc Superquadro Mono engine, producing 77.5 bhp and 63 Nm, sets new benchmarks for single-cylinder performance.
The Triumph Daytona 660's arrival in India at ₹9.72 lakh marks a significant shift in the middleweight sports segment. Unlike its track-focused predecessor, this new Daytona reimagines the legendary nameplate as an accessible sports tourer. The 660cc triple-cylinder engine, producing 93.7 bhp and 69 Nm of torque, strikes a clever balance between city-friendly performance and highway capability. Triumph has evolved the Daytona concept from its racing roots to a more versatile machine, offering riders a premium British alternative in a segment dominated by Japanese manufacturers. It still maintains the distinctive triple-cylinder character that Triumph is renowned for.
Essentially, the Ducati Panigale V4 minus the fairing, the Streetfighter V4 carries forward the same 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine that produces a phenomenal 205 bhp and 123 Nm of peak torque. And to tap all of that performance effectively Ducati offers the Streetfighter V4 with a bunch of electronic nannies including engine brake control, slide control, and wheelie control. Different ride modes and power modes are also on offer here, but the icing on the cake has to be the winglets which Ducati calls bi-plane wings and are aimed at providing 20 kg of downforce at 270 kmph. Lastly, at ₹24.62 lakh, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 is not a cheap affair.
