The Camry is due for an update, could this be the new model?
Toyota recently dropped an interesting teaser, that showcased nothing but the LED light signatures of an upcoming model. The teaser does not hint which car Toyota is going to release but it is pretty evident that it will be a sedan or a hatchback but not an SUV. It could be revealed at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show 2023.
Many reports are claiming that the car Toyota has teased could be the Camry as it is due for an update. Toyota has recently launched a slew of SUVs that include the new Land Cruiser 250, the updated Land Cruiser 70 and the Century SUV.
Toyota has been smart to hide the details inside the teaser as nothing was visible after increasing the exposure and removing the shadows. The only thing revealed in the process is that the upcoming car will get a big ‘Toyota’ logo in the centre. What’s also visible in the teaser are the C-shaped LED light signatures in the headlights. This light signature also looks similar to the fifth-gen Prius that debuted in 2022.

Toyota India currently sells eight-generation Camry in India that retails for Rs. 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It gets a strong-hybrid powertrain with a 175 bhp, 221 Nm, 2.5-litre petrol engine and a 118 bhp, 202 Nm, permanent magnet synchronous motor and develops 215 bhp combined. Since the current gen Camry is sold in India, albeit in limited numbers, we expect Toyota India could also bring the upcoming model here, if that’s what the teaser is.
