Triumph’s 400 cc range now falls in the 40 per cent GST slab, and the manufacturer had withheld the price hike until the end of last year.
Triumph Motorcycles India has listed the revised prices for its 400 cc motorcycle lineup, and we now know the quantum of the price hike for the new year. Triumph’s 400 cc range now falls in the 40 per cent GST slab, and the manufacturer had withheld the price hike until the end of last year. The company has now increased prices across the Speed, Scrambler and Thruxton 400 motorcycles with an increment of up to ₹5,246. Here’s a breakdown of the old and new prices on Triumph’s 400 cc motorcycles.
| Triumph Motorcycles | Old Prices | New Prices | Difference |
| Speed T4 | ₹1,92,539 | ₹1,95,000 | ₹2,461 |
| Speed 400 | ₹2,33,754 | ₹2,39,000 | ₹5,246 |
| Scrambler 400 X | ₹2,67,731 | ₹2,69,977 | ₹2,246 |
| Scrambler 400 XC | ₹2,94,671 | ₹2,96,917 | ₹2,246 |
| Thruxton 400 | ₹2,74,137 | ₹2,76,383 | ₹2,246 |
The 2026 Triumph Speed T4 is priced at ₹1.95 lakh, commanding a premium of ₹2,461 over last year’s price. The Speed T4 is the brand’s most accessible offering in the 400 cc range. Up next, the 2026 Triumph Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC, and Thruxton 400 are now pricier by ₹2,246 each. Lastly, the Triumph Speed 400 gets the maximum price hike of ₹5,246, taking the asking price to ₹2.39 lakh (ex-showroom).

The GST slab revision saw two-wheelers being taxed differently based on their engine capacity. Bikes and scooters under 350 cc now attract 18 per cent GST, while those with a 350 cc and higher displacement attract 40 per cent, up from 28 per cent earlier. The move was met with resistance from manufacturers, especially for premium models.
Nevertheless, the price hikes remain marginal across Triumph’s 400 cc range barring the Speed 400. That being said, the Speed 400 continues to be competitively priced when compared to rivals. The British bike maker’s 400 cc range is locally built in India and is also exported to global markets.
Triumph Motorcycles is reportedly working on a smaller 350 cc displacement bike to circumvent the GST rule. If recent reports are to be believed, this engine will power a new Bonneville-inspired motorcycle, which will be a direct rival to the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB350 in the segment. Triumph is yet to confirm details on this project.
