The new colours certainly make the bike look more premium than before.
Barely days after Triumph slashed the asking price of the Speed T4 from ₹2.17 lakh to ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the British manufacturer has made the bike more attractive by introducing new colour options. From 2025 onwards, the Speed T4 will be available in four tri-colour schemes, namely, Caspian Blue/ Pearl Metallic White, Lava Red Gloss/ Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black/ Pearl Metallic White, and a Phantom Black/Storm Grey option.
Beyond adding these new shades, Triumph India has not made any other changes to the bike. It continues to be powered by the same 30.6 bhp, 398 cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 36 Nm, as against the Speed 400’s 37.5 Nm of peak torque. We enjoyed the bike quite a lot; it feels ideal for the urban jungle. To learn how the Speed T4 behaves in real-world conditions, click here. Similarly, there are no new features, and the hardware setup has been left untouched as well – so all in all, it's the same Speed T4 that Triumph launched last year, just in new shades.
The new colour options have certainly spruced up the Speed T4’s appeal. Especially in the Phantom Black/ Storm Grey option, the bikes look quite premium. All that remains to be seen is whether this will help Triumph register more sales or not. Its key rival, the Hunter 350, has been a resounding success for Royal Enfield and has already sold out more than 5 lakh motorcycles in just a span of two and a half years. Will Triumph India be able to break this successful spell and rope in more buyers towards its most affordable offering? Let’s see.
