TVS Motor Company has entered the adventure touring segment with the launch of the Apache RTX 300. It marks the manufacturer's debut in the growing ADV category in India. The new TVS Apache RTX 300 is priced from ₹1.99 lakh onwards with the base variant, while the top-spec BTO variant will set you back by ₹ ₹2.30 lakh and ₹2.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The base variant’s price is introductory at the moment, and there’s a mid-spec Top variant which will set you back by ₹2.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru)
New In-House Engine
The Apache RTX 300 introduces TVS's first self-developed liquid-cooled engine, unveiled earlier at the Moto Soul motorcycle festival. Unlike the 310cc engine in the Apache RR 310, which was co-developed with BMW Motorrad, this powerplant is entirely engineered by TVS. The 299 cc single-cylinder engine produces 35 bhp and 28.5 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted through a six-speed gearbox equipped with a slipper clutch, and bidirectional quickshifter available as standard.
Road-Focused Adventure Tourer
Despite TVS's experience in motocross racing and participation in the Dakar Rally, the company has not previously offered a production adventure motorcycle. The Apache RTX 300 fills this gap, though it is positioned as a touring-focused machine rather than a hardcore off-roader.
The motorcycle runs on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, a setup similar to the Suzuki V-Strom 250 that favors road riding. This makes it suitable for mild off-road use but not as capable as the KTM 390 Adventure or Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 in challenging terrain.
Fresh Design Language
The TVS Apache RTX 300 features a new design direction for TVS, distinct from the brand's existing lineup. It follows the classic adventure bike silhouette with a tall windscreen, commanding front end, large fuel tank, and slim tail section.
The front end features twin LED headlights TVS’ and golden USD forks. Beyond that, it gets a 5-inch coloured TFT console as standard with Bluetooth connectivity available as standard. TVS is also offering Apache RTX 300 with a proper on-board map navigation, along with that TVS SmartXonnect system will be available as standard. There are four ride modes on offer here, along with that three ABS modes too. Plus, cruise control is also available. TVS will offer touring accessories including panniers, a top box, and knuckle guards for the Apache RTX 300.
