The TVS iQube continues to outsell the Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 electric scooter.
TVS continues to dominate the electric two-wheeler segment in FY26 as well. The Hosur-based manufacturer has already sold 10,569 iQubes to command a 24 per cent share of the total 43,342 electric two-wheelers already retailed in the first two weeks of May so far. Trailing TVS is Bajaj, which displaces Ola from the second spot by selling 9,627 Chetaks thus far. Whereas, Ola Electric has sold 8,322 units, despite boasting the largest portfolio of the two.
The recently listed Ather Energy remains comfortably perched at no.4 by and has sold 5,431 electric scooters so far. This translates to a 13 per cent market share for the month till date. The Ather Rizta family e-scooter continues to drive in the maximum volume for the company. Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp is ranked fifth, with 3,071 units of the Vida V2 sold, which is the only electric scooter from the brand on sale at the moment.
This growth in electric scooter sales is a positive sign for all OEMs. With the Government pushing for discontinuing incentives on electric two-wheelers, it seemed would hinder the growth of this segment. As a result, all brands have realised that affordable electric scooters will be the way forward.
TVS’s upcoming affordable electric scooter was recently spotted in Karnataka being tested in real-world conditions. It has been touted will launch this festive season. Similarly, Ather is also developing a new electric scooter platform called EL, which will accommodate a range of affordable scooters. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto recently launched a new affordable variant of the Chetak. While these are all plans for the future, what remains to be seen at the moment is whether TVS will be able to retain its lead in the electric two-wheeler segment this month.
