TVS and BMW Motorrad have marked a major milestone. The strategic partnership between these two bike majors, which came into existence in 2013, has now produced 2 lakh motorcycles. To commemorate this feat, TVS has announced that production of the BMW F 450 GS will begin at its Hosur-based manufacturing plant.

Speaking on this occasion, Markus Flasch, CEO, BMW Motorrad, said, "This 200,000 unit milestone is a demonstration of the success and strength of our collaboration with TVS Motor Company. What began just over a decade ago as a bold alliance has flourished into an extraordinary success story, with our sub-500cc models setting new standards and delighting riders across the globe.”

This alliance came into existence with the foundation of the 310 cc common platform which continues to underpin models such as the BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS, and G 310 RR, along with the TVS Apache RTR 310 and RR 310. These products are dispatched to over 100 markets globally. The new 450 cc platform is the second architecture to be developed under this partnership.

BMW F 450 GS India Launch

The first model to be built on this new platform is the BMW F 450 GS, which made its debut at EICMA 2025 in Milan last month. The upcoming adventure tourer will eventually serve as the new entry point into BMW’s GS lineup. As of now, the German company is yet to commence bookings for the F 450 GS  in India, although some online reports claim that a few dealerships have started accepting bookings unofficially.

ACKO Drive has learnt from sources that BMW Motorrad will launch the F 450 GS in India in mid-December, and deliveries of the adventure tourer will commence in January 2026.

The BMW F 450 GS will be powered by a 450cc twin-cylinder inline liquid-cooled engine that puts out 47.5 bhp at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The middleweight adventure tourer is built on a tubular steel frame, suspended by a 43 mm KYB upside-down fork and a mono-shock at the rear, offering 180 mm of travel at both ends.
