TVS teases M1-S electric maxi-scooter for EICMA 2025 debut. India launch could be on the cards.

TVS Motor Company has unveiled the first images of its upcoming M1-S electric maxi-scooter, set to make its global debut at the EICMA 2025 motorcycle show in Milan next month.

Developed in collaboration with Singapore-based ION Mobility (a startup in which TVS holds a strategic investment) the M1-S promises to blend sporty aesthetics with cutting-edge EV performance, targeting urban commuters in emerging markets.

The design reveals an aggressive front profile dominated by twin LED headlamps flanked by sharp, eyebrow-style DRLs doubling as turn indicators.

It extends to a spacious flat floorboard for easy under-seat storage, a single-piece sculpted seat for rider comfort, and a minimalist rear grab rail, evoking a premium maxi-scooter vibe with aerodynamic flair.

Under the skin, the M1-S packs a 4.3kWh battery paired with a 12.5 kW (16.76 bhp) electric motor, delivering a punchy 45 Nm of torque. It claims a real-world range of 150 km on a single charge, with brisk acceleration (0-50kmph in 3.7 seconds) and a top speed touching 105 km/h.

Tech-savvy riders will appreciate the 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, offering smartphone mirroring for navigation, music streaming, and call/SMS notifications, plus a convenient smart key system for keyless access.

While the EICMA showcase marks the scooter's European premiere alongside five other TVS products, an India launch remains unconfirmed but likely, given TVS's aggressive EV push domestically.

Initial rollout is eyed for Indonesia, where ION Mobility has a strong foothold, before potential expansion to India and beyond. Priced competitively (expected under ₹1.5 lakh ex-showroom in India), the M1-S could challenge rivals like the Ather 450 series and Bajaj Chetak in the premium electric scooter space.
