Uber expands its Intercity Motorhomes to Mumbai, Bangalore, and Pune from 15 October, following a successful Delhi NCR pilot. The caravan-styled vehicles offer premium outstation travel.

Uber is rolling out its Intercity Motorhomes to Mumbai, Bangalore, and Pune starting 15 October 2025, following a successful pilot in Delhi NCR.

The limited-edition campaign, offering custom-designed, caravan-styled vehicles for outstation trips, saw 100% occupancy during its one-month run in the National Capital Region. Bookings for the new cities open on 13 October, with Delhi NCR services continuing until 31 December.

Features

Launched in August 2025, the Motorhomes cater to travellers seeking premium, private road trips. Each vehicle, seating 4-5 passengers, includes a television, microwave, mini-refrigerator, and lavatory, plus a driver and helper for assistance.

The pilot’s success, driven by monsoon-season demand for comfortable getaways, prompted queries from other cities, leading to this expansion. The festive season, weddings, and cooler weather from October to December are expected to further boost demand for such flexible travel options.

Booking & Availability

Bookings require a 48-hour advance reservation through Uber’s Reserve feature, which allows adding stops, real-time tracking, and 24x7 support.

Uber Intercity, covering over 3,000 routes, is India’s largest organised outstation mobility service, offering a reliable alternative to traditional taxis. The Motorhomes campaign taps into the growing trend of long-distance road travel for family visits, business trips, and weekend escapes.

Industry Context

The expansion aligns with India’s rising appetite for intercity travel, with Uber reporting strong growth in its Intercity service. While Shiva Shailendran, Director - Consumer Growth, Uber India, noted its popularity, the focus remains on enhancing convenience and comfort.

As competition in India’s mobility sector intensifies, this move strengthens Uber’s position in the outstation travel market.
